I am fascinated with google earth maps of the suburbs. The sprawl of planned communities reminds me of the texture of coral. And that is just what my house sits upon.

These are early experiments with pastiglia (gesso painting), gold leaf and egg tempera. I love working with this ancient medium. Pure pigments radiate color.
