Sunflowers at Sunset is a sneak sketch. I frequented the Ambler Farm sunflower fields with my sister's dogs and my easel. I did not know that the trails closed at sunset. This incredible smear of color and life - the perfect ending to the day.

The Ambler Farm farmer stopped by to let me know that I had to leave. We both kind of laughed because the farm closes to keep young party people from planting themselves like sunflowers - with libations. It was so great to flow into this painting. It is one of my very favorites.

I had been staying with my sister in Connecticut, looking for a new home after an intense life change. Walking and painting centered my mind. This area is the last stop out of NYC but is rural. The space and light were a gift.
