Oil paintings of frozen Biscay Pond Maine melting by artist Elizabeth Reed

Biscay Pond Melting is one of many daily paintings I made in March during two major snow storms. The battle with climate change means the pond doesn’t freeze like it once did.

I was so attracted to the pattern of ice turning to water.

This painting is unusual in that the ground glows through the paint. Somewhat like the glow of the sky reflected in the ice.
