Sunflowers at Sunset is a sneak sketch. I frequented the Ambler Farm sunflower fields with my sister’s dogs and my easel. I did not know that the trails closed at sunset. This incredible smear of color and life – the perfect ending to the day.

The Ambler Farm farmer stopped by to tell me I had to leave. We both kind of laughed because the farm closes to keep young party people from planting themselves like sunflowers – with libations. It was so great to flow into this painting. It is one of my very favorites.
