VB: Verslyn Bryan…Nickname: Vee and Princess….No childhood nickname
ER: How old are you?
VB: 44
ER: What is your favorite saying or quote?
VB: “God Bless You…Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”
ER: Where were you born? Where did you grow up? Where do you call home?
VB: I was born in Anguilla. I grew up in Anguilla and St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. I am confused when it comes to where I call home. I was born and raised in Anguilla and St. Thomas but live in Florida…so I call all 3 home.
ER: Where are your parents/grandparents from? How did they influence you today? (big question)
VB: My parents and grandparents were born and raised in Anguilla; however, my grandparents on my mom side are Irish (grandmother) and Indian (Grandfather).
ER: What is your heritage (ethnicity)?
VB: I am British, but my background is Irish, Scottish and Indian to name a few.
ER: Why do you live here? How did you get here?
VB: I live in Florida. I moved to Miami for a job, but I did not like Miami, so I never took the job.
ER: Do you speak another language?
VB: No
ER: What is your favorite color?
VB: Not sure I have a favorite color, but I like bright colors.
ER: Do you have a pet(s)?
VB: No pets. Anything that’s more maintenance than me is not happening unless it’s a child.
ER: Do you have children?
VB: No.
ER: What is your passion? What are you doing when you are most happy?
VB: I am an accountant by profession and I love my job. However, I am also happy when I can motivate and inspire other people.
ER: Do you have a mission? A reason for doing that which is your passion?
VB: “To love God and love others and to be a positive influence in the lives of everyone that I encounter.”
ER: What is / was your profession? Is this profession what you were meant to do? Why?
VB: I am an Accountant. I have always loved accounting and I am currently studying for the CPA.
ER: What are you really good at doing? Why?
VB: I believe that I am a multi talented individual. I do not limit myself to anything specific.
VB: What do you do that might change the world? Why?
VB: Every day I send morning devotions, prayers and motivational quotes to several of my friends on Whats App. It started because a dear friend of mine called me one Sunday morning to ask me to pray for them. After that morning, I started sending prayers to a couple of friends and it grew from there.
ER: What makes you feel like part of a community? Why?
VB: As a way of giving back to my community, I am currently an acolyte and a serve at St M & M.
ER: What is the most interesting thing you have ever done?
VB: I once hiked (ascended) into to the crater rim of a dormant volcano in St. Eustatius, also known as the “Quill”. It was nerve racking but a beautiful sight. Inside the crater is completely overgrown with a tropical, pocket-sized rain forest. At the heart of the crater we saw lianas, orchids, and sweet-smelling bromeliads and fruit trees. I also carved my initials in one of the tree trunks.
ER: What is your greatest accomplishment?
VB: My greatest accomplishment was when I closed on my home.
ER: What are your regrets?
VB: I do not look at them as regrets, I right them off as experiences and lessons. Every lesson is a blessing and every blessing is a lesson.
ER: What are your struggles?
VB: I try not to look at difficult situations as struggles. I count them as experiences gained and lessons learned.
ER: What are your greatest adventures?
VB: One of my greatest adventures was my trip to Rome. I flew to Birmingham, England then to Rome and took a Mediterranean Cruise. While in Rome, I visited the Vatican and the Colosseum.
